Nissan Tekton South Africa Price from R339 999: Patrol DNA, Turbo Punch, On Sale Now

South Africa just got first dibs on Nissan’s newest compact SUV. The Tekton rolled out in Pretoria on 21 September 2026, and it wears its big brother Patrol influence proudly, squared off bonnet, full width chrome grille, C shaped LED lights and a chunky faux skid plate that makes it look tougher than its price suggests.

Looks That Punch Above Their Weight

Ground clearance sits at a useful 212 mm and the wheels are either 17- or 18-inch depending on the grade. It’s the kind of stance that works on both the school run and a weekend dirt road without trying too hard.

Two Turbos, One Clear Choice

Only turbo petrol engines are offered.

The entry 1.0 litre three cylinder delivers 74 kW and 160 Nm through a six-speed manual, honest and efficient.

Step up to the 1.3 litre four-cylinder and you get 115 kW and 260 Nm paired with a dual clutch automatic. Front wheel drive only, no diesel, no 4x4, just straightforward performance aimed at real world driving.

Space and Everyday Kit That Matter

Nissan claims class leading boot space of up to 700 litres, stretching to 1 789 litres with the rear seats down. Every model gets a 10.1 inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus a digital cluster. Higher Tekna and Tekna+ grades add ventilated front seats, wireless charging, dual zone climate and a powered driver’s seat. The top Tekna+ throws in a powered tailgate for good measure.

Safety is solid across the board: six airbags, stability control, hill start assist, reverse camera and tyre pressure monitoring. Upper models gain multi view cameras and a useful ADAS suite including Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring and autonomous emergency braking.
